ITT was started in 1989 as an outbound Tour Operator, and continues to be a specialist wholesaler in that market
During 2002, we launched our Incoming Department, functioning as a Destination Management Company for travel services to South and Southern Africa. These services are marketed to Travel Agents and Tour Operators abroad as well as in South Africa. We welcome both FIT as well as Group requests. The incoming traffic is developing fast, and we have experienced encouraging growth in this department. ITT has embraced the concept of Responsible Tourism as we believe that the benefits of tourism must be shared by the communities which, till recently, have been excluded from the tourism business. We evaluate our suppliers’ Responsible Tourism efforts and we offer a separate portfolio of packages encompassing the ideals and aims of Responsible Tourism supporters. We also facilitate a project whereby in excess of 900 AIDS orphans are receiving monthly sponsorship from families abroad; this project was established in co-operation between one of our clients abroad and ourselves. ITT oversees the channeling of funds and ensures that the maximum benefit goes to each child identified for this project.
ITT is not just a booking office. We give advice and suggestions. Each traveler has his or her own ideas and dreams of what their particular holiday should be like, and we see it as our function to make these holiday dreams come through. The more we know about each individual traveler, their likes and dislikes, hobbies and requirements, the more we will be able to tailor-make the ideal holiday program. ITT are members of ASATA (Association of South African Travel Agents) and are licensed by IATA. We are also members of SATSA (Southern African Tourism Services Association) and members of Tourism KwaZulu-Natal. Our expertise and dedication to service wins us new friends every day. ITT currently has 21 full time staff members, as well as 4 half-day sales-consultants. ITT was started by Mrs. Rung (Ragnhild) Button who is the sole owner of ITT and who is still actively involved on a day-to-day basis.
